Pre requisite knowledge :-

Knowledge of different types of angles with their figures.

Teaching Aids:-

Green Board, Chalk, Duster, Charts, smart board, projector and laptop etc.

Methodology:-

Demonstration and Lecture method

Educational Objectives:-

• If a ray stands on a line, then the sum of the two adjacent angles so formed is 180° and the converse.

• If two lines intersect ,vertically opposite angles are equal.

•When two parallel lines are intersected by a transversal then prove that corresponding angles are equal, alternate angles are equal, alternate angles are equal, and interior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementary.

•Lines which are parallel to a given line are parallel to each other.

• Prove that the sum of three angles of a triangle is 180°.

•If the side of a triangle is produced, the exterior angle so formed is equal to the sum of two interior opposite angles.

Procedure :- teacher will ask the class about the meaning of the word' lines and angles' and different type of angles. After getting the different answers from the class , teacher himself explain these meaning , definition and explainations step by step.

Expected outcomes :-After studying this lesson students will be able to understand

•the different types of angles with their diagrams.

•linear pair of angles, supplementary angles, complementary angles,  adjacent  angles.

•different types of lines.

•concept of parallel lines and transversal.

• properties of triangles with proof.

Students deliverables :-Review questions assigned by the teacher. Solve NCERT problems with examples and with important theorems along with some questions from the refreshers.             

Assessment technique:-

•At the end of the lesson a Class Test will be taken.

•Re-test(s) will be conducted on the basis of the performance of the students in the test.

•Worksheets and assignments should be given to the students.

•Arrangement should be made for the oral test or quiz competitions.

•Students will solve NCERT problems with examples and assignment given by teacher. 

Extended learning:- students extend their learning by visiting mathematical sites.

•They also extend their learning by doing practises of other maths books .

• Teacher will also introduce no. One by one with taking examples and with proper explanation.

• Teacher also covers the subparts of number system and learnt about that how you can identify the type of any number.

• teacher also cover the rationalising of any number.

Expected outcomes :- after studying this lesson , students will be able 

• To find the rational and irrational number.

• To rationalize the denominator.

• Able to Visualise the any number on number line.

Details of the Subtopic

•Cartesian plane, axis and quadrants.

• Coordinates of a point, name and terms associated with the coordinate plane.

•Plotting points in the plane.

Educational objectives:-After studying this lesson students will be able to understand the 

• Cartesian coordinate plane, X-axis, Y-axis, horizontal line, vertical line,origin, abscissa, ordinate and different quadrants. 

• Students also know the different points in the Cartesian coordinate plane.

Teaching aids :-Board, Chalk, Duster, Graph, Ruler. 

Engage :-Teacher will engage the students by asking the following questions. 

• Define number line. Explain it with the help of diagram.

• What is the meaning of geometry? 

• Teacher will write some equations on board and mention value of variable of given equation and ask the students to solve.

• Teacher will also ask the students to identify constant, coefficients and variable.

Announcement of the topic :-After asking the questions from students, teacher will announce the name of the topic by saying that today they will learn COORDINATE GEOMETRY.

Explanation :-Now, teacher will start the session by inductive method. Following topics will be taught by teacher step by step. 

I.Firstly, teacher will explain the meaning of Cartesian coordinate system.

II.Then terms and components of Cartesian coordinate system like x-axis, y-axis, origin, quadrants, and points in the Cartesian plane (Abscissa, Ordinate), Order of points or coordinates Representation of coordinates. 


Explore :-

•Teacher will draw Cartesian Plane and plot some points on board ask the students to recognize abscissa, ordinate and how coordinates are written and tell in which quadrant they lie.

•Students will review questions given by the teacher. 

•Students will solve NCERT problems with examples and assignment given by teacher. 

Final recapitulation :-Teacher will recall the main and important points at the end of the class.
